Non-explosive · Hazard class III
We produce UAN-28, UAN-30, UAN-32 and liquid NP. Worldwide delivery by tanker trucks from 3 tonnes and rail tankers from 50 tonnes.
The optimal grade for early spring application — withstands temperatures down to −18°C without crystallisation. Three nitrogen forms provide immediate (nitrate), medium-term (ammonium) and prolonged (amide) nutrition. Preferred for regions where frost is possible during the application period.
Maximum nitrogen concentration among UAN grades — 32%. Optimal for warm regions and summer top-dressing at consistently positive temperatures. Smaller volume per nitrogen unit reduces transport costs and speeds up pumping operations. Most economical in terms of cost per kg of nitrogen.
Intermediate grade with an optimal balance between nitrogen concentration and crystallisation temperature. Suitable for temperate climates in spring and summer. Convenient for mixed storage conditions where UAN-28 frost resistance is not needed but occasional frost protection is required.
Liquid complex NP fertilizer with high phosphorus content — 34% P₂O₅ in fully water-soluble form. Applied in-row at sowing for starter nutrition and in fertigation systems. Phosphorus in liquid NP is absorbed significantly faster than from granular forms.
UAN Storage Requirements: tanks made of stainless steel (AISI 304/316), fibreglass or polyethylene. Carbon steel and zinc corrode aggressively in contact with UAN. Minimum storage temperature for UAN-28: above −18°C; for UAN-32: above −2°C. If you do not have your own storage tanks, ask our manager about tank rental options.
Key criteria: ambient temperature during application and crop nutrition objectives.

UAN is applied in three ways — each suited to specific crops, growth stages and conditions.
Application by soil injectors with incorporation at 5–10 cm depth or delivery into a furrow. Eliminates ammonia volatilisation. Used for basal spring application and under autumn tillage. Rate: 100–200 l/ha depending on grade concentration and target N dose.
No dilution required · Minimum nitrogen losses
UAN is diluted with water 1:3 to 1:5 and applied by sprayer to growing crops. Compatible with most pesticides — saving application passes. Do not apply when temperature exceeds +25°C or in windy conditions. Solution rate: 100–200 l/ha.
Dilution 1:3–1:5 · Compatible with PPP
UAN is delivered into the drip irrigation system in diluted form. Solution pH of 7.0–8.5 is compatible with most irrigation systems. Pre-application compatibility check with water source is recommended (hardness, pH). Effective for vegetable crops and orchards.
Dilution as calculated · Check water pH first
UAN is effective for all cereal and oilseed crops — especially when combining top-dressing with pesticide applications.
Foliar UAN top-dressing at early tillering (BBCH 21–25) 30–40 kg N/ha — primary yield increase of 3–6 dt/ha. Combined with fungicide application.
Soil application in spring 80–100 kg N/ha before vegetation starts. Foliar top-dressing at rosette stage — additional 20–30 kg N/ha combined with insecticide.
Soil injection before sowing 80–120 kg N/ha with incorporation. Foliar top-dressing at 3–5 leaf stage 30–40 kg N/ha combined with herbicide.
UAN applied under pre-sowing cultivation 60–80 kg N/ha. Foliar top-dressing not recommended — risk of leaf burn due to trichomes. Soil injector or band application.
UAN by soil injector before sowing or at early row closure 80–100 kg N/ha. Tank-mix with herbicide possible during foliar top-dressing.
Barley, spring wheat. UAN-28 for early spring start 60–80 kg N/ha. Foliar top-dressing at tillering combined with insecticide or fungicide.
UAN via fertigation through drip system — 2–4 kg N/ha per application. Liquid NP 10-34-0 for starter nutrition at early growth stage.
The key agronomic advantage of UAN — compatibility with most herbicides, fungicides and insecticides in one tank. Saves 1–2 application passes per season.

The main difference is nitrogen concentration (28% vs 32%) and crystallisation temperature (−18°C vs −2°C). UAN-28 is preferred for early spring application when overnight frost is still possible — the solution will not freeze in the tanker and pipelines. UAN-32 is applied at consistently positive temperatures (from May to August) and is more cost-effective per unit of nitrogen due to its higher concentration. For temperate climates, UAN-28 is optimal in spring and UAN-32 for summer top-dressing. For warmer regions — UAN-32 throughout the season.
UAN is compatible with most herbicides, fungicides and insecticides — this is its key agronomic advantage. Combining top-dressing with crop protection saves 1–2 machinery passes per season, reducing fuel costs and soil compaction. However, before mixing always perform a jar test (trial mixing in a jar): certain products based on alkaline surfactants or containing calcium or magnesium may precipitate. UAN should not be mixed with mancozeb-based products or certain strobilurins without prior testing.
UAN is corrosive to carbon steel, zinc, copper and their alloys. Approved materials: stainless steel AISI 304 or 316L, fibreglass, high-density polyethylene (HDPE), polypropylene. Seals and gaskets — EPDM or PTFE (Teflon). Rubber and PVC are not suitable. The tank must be fitted with a closed fill/discharge system and a vent valve. If you do not have your own storage, ask our manager about tank rental options.
In terms of cost per unit of nitrogen, UAN and ammonium nitrate are comparable. The main UAN savings are operational: liquid fertilizer is applied faster (sprayer capacity exceeds spreader output), dosed more precisely and combined more easily with pesticides. On large areas (from 500 ha), savings on machinery, fuel and labour when using UAN are significant per season. Furthermore, UAN is non-explosive unlike ammonium nitrate, which removes storage and transport restrictions. For smaller farms without liquid fertilizer storage infrastructure, ammonium nitrate may be more practical.
Each UAN batch is supplied with: quality passport TU 2183-003 with nitrogen (N) content, density and pH analysis; TR EAEU 041/2017 declaration of conformity; transport emergency card (ADR, hazard class III); sanitary-epidemiological conclusion. The complete documentation package is accepted for government agricultural subsidy applications for liquid mineral fertilizer purchases.
UAN (urea-ammonium nitrate solution) is a liquid nitrogen fertilizer — an aqueous solution of ammonium nitrate and urea. The key property of UAN is its simultaneous content of three nitrogen forms: nitrate (NO₃⁻), ammonium (NH₄⁺) and amide CO(NH₂)₂. This provides rapid initial action from nitrate nitrogen, prolonged nutrition from ammonium and slow release from amide nitrogen through nitrification in soil.
AgroChemProm produces three UAN grades per TU 2183-003: UAN-28 (28% N, crystallisation −18°C), UAN-30 (30% N, −9°C) and UAN-32 (32% N, −2°C), as well as liquid NP 10-34-0 — a liquid complex NP fertilizer for fertigation and in-row application.
AgroChemProm UAN offers several agronomic and logistic advantages over ammonium nitrate and urea. The main one is the ability to combine top-dressing with crop protection treatment in a single machinery pass. This saves 1–2 passes per season, reducing fuel, labour and soil compaction costs.
UAN is non-explosive (unlike ammonium nitrate) — no storage volume restrictions, no specialised warehouses required. The liquid form ensures precise dosing and uniform nitrogen distribution across the field without dust or caking. Liquid fertilizer application throughput using sprayers is significantly higher than solid spreader capacity.
Soil application of UAN by injectors with soil incorporation is the most efficient method: ammonia nitrogen losses are minimal. Foliar top-dressings with UAN diluted 1:3–1:5 with water are carried out on growing crops in the morning hours at temperatures below +20°C. Hot weather and wind make foliar application inadvisable.
Combining UAN with herbicides at cereal tillering stage is standard agronomic practice. A jar test must be performed before tank mixing. We supply UAN worldwide by tanker trucks from 3 tonnes and rail tankers from 50 tonnes.
To place an order, submit a request on the website or call us. Specify the UAN grade, required volume in tonnes, delivery timeline and whether you have storage tanks. If you have no tanks — ask our manager about rental options.
